  • Driving the implementation of change initiatives and evaluating their potential impact on the practice environment, alongside assessing risks to patient outcomes.
  • Providing leadership and expert advice on staffing, skill mix, and care delivery methods through interprofessional collaboration, while promoting patient safety and best practices.
  • Facilitating midwifery mentorship, orientation, and onboarding processes.
  • Identifying risks associated with professional practice standards and planning corrective actions as necessary.
  • Contributing to the overall development of goals and objectives for midwives across the healthcare continuum.
  • Managing multiple projects and initiatives, including establishing goals and timelines with project partners.

Qualifications:

  • Current licensed Midwife with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in clinical practice, education, research, project management, or leadership.
  • Maintaining clinical practice as a Midwife within a designated minimum amount of clinical practice.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate programs and changes.
  • Fostering collaboration and effective relationships with stakeholders to promote shared goals.
  • Knowledge of relevant contracts, government policies, and funding mechanisms.
  • Capability to develop detailed parameters for clinical practice changes and manage change within complex environments.
  • Ability to coach and mentor across various professional areas.
  • Understanding of midwifery legislation, regulations, and professional standards.
