Education Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Education Consultant to join our team at the BC College of Nurses & Midwives. As an Education Consultant, you will play a critical role in ensuring that nursing and midwifery education programs in British Columbia meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Program Review and Recognition
Lead reviews of entry-level nursing and midwifery programs and courses, ensuring compliance with our Education Program Review Policies and Guidelines. Conduct thorough assessments of program evidence, drafting reports and briefing notes for the Education Program Review Committee.
Communication and Stakeholder EngagementMaintain effective communication with education program administrators, keeping them informed of the program review process and ensuring no conflicts of interest with Education Program Review Committee members or site visitors.
Policy Development and ImplementationSupport the Education Program Review Committee in planning and implementing regular policy reviews, including education standards and indicators. Provide advice and guidance on BCCNM's mandate and policies.
Strategic InitiativesCollaborate with the Director, Education Program Review, on strategic initiatives such as exam development, entry-level competency development, and policy implementation.
Continuous Quality ImprovementContribute to ongoing learning and professional development, staying up-to-date on Indigenous cultural safety and humility, and supporting organizational actions to address Indigenous-specific racism in BC's healthcare system.
Requirements- Doctoral or master's degree in nursing or midwifery or a related field.
- Over 10 years of experience in nursing or midwifery positions, with 3-5 years in education or administrative roles.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience in continuous quality improvement strategy development and short- and long-term strategic planning.
- Ability to make decisions independently and collaborate with internal staff and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Canadian colonial impacts on Indigenous people and Indigenous-specific anti-racism.
We offer a competitive salary range of $117,646 - $123,529 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. You will also receive a generous vacation and extended benefits package, including 100% employer-paid health and dental benefits.
