Position Overview:
Join Raytheon Technologies as an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist within our dedicated Environmental Health & Safety department. This role is pivotal in enhancing productivity while minimizing health-related expenses. You will report directly to the Senior Supervisor, Environmental Health & Safety, and engage in various responsibilities that contribute to a safe and compliant workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor adherence to environmental regulations and internal policies.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to pinpoint potential environmental risks and propose corrective measures.
  • Maintain comprehensive records related to environmental compliance, including waste management and air quality.
  • Perform safety inspections of facilities and equipment to ensure alignment with safety standards.
  • Identify and document unsafe conditions and practices, ensuring follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Assist in developing and delivering training programs focused on Environmental Health & Safety for employees.
  • Support investigations of accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend preventive strategies.
  • Prepare and submit necessary environmental and safety reports to regulatory bodies.
  • Stay informed on changes in EHS regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Assist in the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Engage in sustainability initiatives by participating in environmental conservation and waste reduction efforts.
  • Support claims management with a focus on early and safe return to work for employees.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) role within a manufacturing context is preferred.
  • Possession of a professional EHS designation (e.g., EP, CRSP, AE, CET) is a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with WSIB claims processing.
  • Experience with Ontario health and safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of the Environmental Protection Act.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, across all organizational levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Experience with employee wellness programs and health promotion initiatives.
  • Ability to build and maintain trust among employees to enhance the safety culture.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Motivated individual with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
