Description and Requirements
We are in search of a seasoned and detail-oriented professional to become a part of our team as a Lead Market Analyst. In this vital position, you will be tasked with evaluating market patterns, predicting supply and demand fluctuations, and generating, maintaining, and disseminating daily commodity pricing reports. Perform comprehensive market research and analysis to uncover trends, opportunities, and risks within the NGL markets, specifically propane and butane. Create precise supply and demand forecasts for NGLs by examining production data, storage levels, import/export statistics, and other pertinent factors. Collaborate with the commercial team to devise pricing strategies and enhance the distribution of NGL pricing offerings. Develop and maintain intricate financial models to assess potential transactions, evaluate profitability, and support decision-making processes. Monitor and evaluate competitors' pricing and sales strategies, market dynamics, and regulatory changes to identify potential impacts on our operations. Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior management, emphasizing key insights and actionable findings. Work alongside cross-functional teams, including accounting, sales, supply, and logistics, to ensure smooth coordination and efficient operations.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline; a Master's degree is preferred. At least 5 years of experience in the energy sector, with a strong emphasis on NGL marketing, trading, or related fields. Exceptional analytical and quantitative abilities, with expertise in data analysis, modeling, and forecasting methodologies. Strong comprehension of NGL markets, pricing structures, and industry trends. Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and succinctly. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Power BI, along with experience in coding and managing large datasets. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset towards identifying and addressing challenges.Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with energy trading and risk management (ETRM) systems. Understanding of relevant regulations and compliance standards within the energy sector. Knowledge of supply chain optimization and logistics management. Proven success in executing deals and creating value within the NGL marketing domain.Superior Gas Liquids (SGL) delivers customized solutions to wholesale clients for the transportation of propane and butane across North America. SGL serves as the exclusive supplier to Superior Propane, Canada's largest and only coast-to-coast propane distributor.
