About the Role

The Deli Team Lead is a key member of the Sunterra Market team, responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Deli Department. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate and guide the team to achieve exceptional customer service and sales results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Coordinate and plan the schedule for Deli Department Team Members, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient workflow.
  • Training and Development: Train and upskill Deli Team Members on new products, procedures, and best practices.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of stock, sales, and wastage, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Customer Service: Ensure that Sunterra's food quality and service standards are met, resolving customer complaints and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Operations: Maintain sales revenue and wastage, making suggestions for procedures and price changes to optimize department performance.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining sanitary checklists and temperature log sheets.
  • Quality Control: Follow Sunterra Standardized Recipes and all other related Sunterra Policies, ensuring consistency and quality in all products.
  • Support and Collaboration: Assist and support the Deli Team with all departmental functions, promoting a positive and inclusive team environment.
Requirements
  • Customer Service Experience: Must have a proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Supervisory Experience: An asset, but not required.
  • Effective Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate the team.
  • Time Management: Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work well within a team, with a positive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods, with some exposure to temperature variations and wet conditions.
