eGrid Electrical Specialist

a comprehensive engineering and professional services firm - is in search of a driven electrical specialist with a strong background in electrical design for utility distribution.

Our workforce comprises highly skilled electrical and communication specialists, designers, and engineers focused on integrating innovative technologies into projects within the electric utility domain.

This demanding role requires collaboration within a specialized team dedicated to the planning and design of electrical, automation, protection, and communication systems for electric utility and industrial initiatives across North America, with an immediate emphasis on projects in Ontario.

Engage in a variety of electrical design utility solutions

  • Designing electrical distribution frameworks
  • Generate, assess, and provide feedback on designs and schematics for electrical (and associated civil asset) utility systems, including distribution, MTS, single line diagrams, general arrangement schematics, and grounding/earthing, lighting/services designs.


  • Ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory, health, and safety standards, utility protocols, and industry norms.


  • Verify that all schematics and deliverables adhere to project specifications and standards.

Implement designs in accordance with the electrical design criteria for the project, as well as established design standards, codes, and regulations.


  • Facilitate coordination of all electrical interfaces with designers and engineers from other disciplines.
  • Potential involvement in project and workload management decisions.
  • Participate in field assessments at client locations that may require extensive walking.

  • Proficient in CAD design 2D/3D (Microstation, AutoCAD, PSDS, PDS, etc.)
  • Skilled in utility pole loading calculations and related software (e.g.,)
Knowledgeable in project management and document control tools (e.g., ProjectWise, SAP, Primavera, etc.)

  • Understanding of electrical principles and construction methodologies.
  • Preference for a Certified Engineering Technologist designation.
  • Preference for experience in both civil and electrical multidisciplinary utility infrastructure.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
