About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our team at Electrical & Automation Industry Careers. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving business growth and developing strategic sales plans to achieve our goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy Development: Develop and implement business development strategies to target key markets and industries in Canada.
  • Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports across Canada, fostering a culture of trust, teamwork, and accountability.
  • New Business Development: Manage a national sales funnel to achieve sales goals and targets, utilizing our corporate CRM system.
  • Sales Territory Management: Manage your own sales territory in Ontario, researching new opportunities and prospects to drive business growth.
Requirements
  • Education: College degree, post-secondary education, or technical school training, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience: Minimum years of sales experience with senior-level professionals and a proven track record of achieving results within wholesale distribution and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) markets.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven leader with strong diplomacy, negotiation, and decision-making skills, able to influence others and manage change.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with a variety of individuals in a cross-functional capacity.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business and financial acumen, with a high degree of professionalism and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Electrical Product Knowledge: Strong knowledge of electrical products, including lighting, switchgear, controls, cable, and electrical commodities.
  • Construction Project Sales Experience: Experience in direct sales management and construction project sales, with a focus on the Oil and Gas, Metals and Mining, Power, or Industrial Process/Manufacturing segments.
