Position Overview: Commercial Banking Analyst

Role Purpose

The Commercial Banking Analyst plays a vital role in enhancing DUCA's Commercial Lending profitability and growth by managing a diverse portfolio of mid-market business relationships. This role supports the Commercial Finance team through analysis, credit application preparation, portfolio oversight, and business development activities on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in evaluating financing proposals, conducting due diligence, performing research, and preparing credit applications while ensuring compliance with DUCA's policies and risk management guidelines.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the ongoing management of credit facilities.
  • Conduct credit assessments of existing Members and ensure annual reviews/renewals are maintained at or below targeted levels.
  • Engage with Commercial Lending clients regularly, addressing inquiries regarding products, services, and financial advice.
  • Support portfolio management tasks and other daily operational duties.
  • Research and analyze market segments, monitoring conditions and trends to evaluate risk.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or economics; a Master's degree or relevant designations are advantageous.
  • 1-3 years of experience in banking or a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with financial statement analysis is beneficial.
  • Prior experience in construction lending is a plus but not mandatory.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong analytical capabilities are essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective problem-solving and issue resolution skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • A collaborative team player with the capacity to work effectively in group settings.

Salary: The annual salary range for this position starts at $62,158. Actual salaries will vary based on relevant job-related factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and education/training. The total compensation package may include incentive compensation linked to company and individual performance or other benefits.
