Business Analyst - Banking/AML Job Description

CB Canada is seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst - Banking/AML to join our team. As a Business Analyst - Banking/AML, you will play a critical role in supporting the implementation of initiatives that drive value stream projects and BAU enhancements across Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the AML Risk Project Management Office in managing AML activities, including processes, policies, solutions, and overall accountability for the entire bank.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders from different lines of business to gather and document business requirements.
  • Develop and manage Operational Readiness activities to enable implementations across value streams.
  • Engage with technology partners to provide accepted solutions for key stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple projects as a project team member, taking the lead from requirements gathering to testing and post-implementation support.
  • Contribute to the establishment of a Business Analysis Centre of Excellence, focusing on initiatives impacting Transaction Monitoring, Client Risk Rating, and other areas as required.
  • Apply strong governance and standards, including the creation of business analysis artifacts.
  • Develop and maintain well-defined best practices and methodologies that enable lean, quick-to-market requirements and minimal change requests.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and partners to ensure output is consistently delivering business value and aligning with agreed-upon commitments.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst.
  • 1-2+ years of AML experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with Jira/Confluence.
  • Experience operating under multiple project delivery frameworks (Waterfall, Agile).
  • Ability to work independently to gather and document all business requirements.
  • High level of interpersonal and verbal communication skills necessary to relate to other people at their systems knowledge level.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and problems and do the necessary research using multiple sources of information to arrive at innovative solutions.
  • Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong writing skills (necessary for creation of BRD).
  • Process improvement experience with an understanding of workflow analysis and design.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual in Spanish (full proficiency) a strong asset.
  • BA experience within FI/Banking an asset.
  • Oracle experience/familiarity.
  • ACAMS Certification is an asset.
Assignment Details:

Assignment start date: ASAP - 6 months to start.

Assignment location: Toronto, ON - Work Hybrid.
