Engineering Operations Manager

Our Technical Services division is seeking an onsite Technical Manager to oversee and enhance engineering initiatives aimed at optimizing our renewable energy facilities.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of capital and major maintenance budgets;
- Ensure adherence to budgeted capital and maintenance plans to meet annual objectives;
- Contribute to the development of long-term capital and maintenance strategies for hydro and wind sites;
- Provide engineering insights and develop solutions while overseeing maintenance programs;
- Lead the design and implementation of engineering projects as Project Manager;
- Manage project-related activities including RFPs, specifications, proposal evaluations, and contract finalization;
- Prepare and oversee contract documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations;
- Evaluate new technologies to enhance operational efficiency and minimize risks;
- Engage with the Region System Operator to ensure compliance with operational standards;
- Mentor and supervise a team of project managers and support specialists.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in leading engineering teams and managing multiple projects;
- Strong collaborative spirit with a positive approach to teamwork;
- In-depth knowledge of hydroelectric, solar, and wind energy technologies;
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment;
- Familiarity with North American Electrical Reliability standards;
- Experience in field engineering, commissioning, and project management;
- Commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in safety and environmental practices.
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Electrical Engineering;
- Degree in engineering and eligibility for registration as a P. Eng. in Ontario;
- Strong negotiation, facilitation, and leadership capabilities;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications;
- Valid Ontario driver's license;
- Willingness to travel as required.
