Job Title: Sous Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at St. John's Fish Exchange Kitchen & Wet Bar. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, and inventory.
  • Analyze operating costs and other data to optimize kitchen efficiency.
  • Develop and implement new recipes and menu items.
  • Supervise and train cooking staff to ensure exceptional food preparation and presentation.
  • Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events and functions.
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies to maintain optimal inventory levels.
Requirements:
  • 3-4 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
Working Conditions:
  • 40 hours per week.
  • Flexible scheduling to meet business needs.
  • Uniform and equipment provided.
