Responsibilities:- Develop and implement nursing department initiatives and functions to ensure high-quality resident care.
- Lead the coordination and implementation of best practice and risk management initiatives related to resident care.
- Effectively manage nursing supplies and maintain a system of care assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation at the resident and unit program level.
- Mentor staff and oversee the provision of quality resident care.
- Initiate investigative and corrective actions related to occupational health and safety and work with WSIB claims and return-to-work plans.
- Assume responsibility for the nursing department and work on special projects, reviews, and other initiatives.
- Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse.
- A passion for caring for seniors and a serving heart.
- Demonstrated experience with WSIB management and other aspects of Occupational Health and Safety.
- Experience with falls and harm reduction strategies is an asset.
- Previous similar experience in long-term care is an asset, with comprehensive knowledge of duties.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively.
