Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Director of Sales to lead our hotel division's sales initiatives. This role is pivotal in driving revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction by formulating and executing strategies that enhance product visibility and hotel sales. The Director of Sales will collaborate closely with the Chief Hotel Officer, General Managers, Revenue Management, and Marketing Teams to optimize REVPAR and expand Market Share.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the formulation of the hotel's strategic business plans.
  • Design and implement sales strategies aligned with the hotel's objectives.
  • Regularly assess performance and modify strategies as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Team to establish the annual budget.
  • Foster teamwork through effective communication.
  • Ensure adherence to client and guest service standards across all properties.
  • Work towards achieving or surpassing budgetary targets.
  • Facilitate and monitor company cross-selling initiatives.
  • Leverage the company profile database to identify target areas for travel agent outreach.
  • Coordinate travel agent appreciation events and promotional rates during off-peak periods.
  • Assist in creating and executing promotional packages for both internal and external audiences.
  • Implement business development strategies to attract new clientele and conduct sales calls to secure business opportunities.
  • Participate in bi-monthly revenue and sales meetings.
  • Maintain accountability for the sales strategy and strategic plan in collaboration with the Chief Hotel Officer and General Managers.
  • Lead on-site sales activities to cultivate long-term, value-driven customer relationships that support the hotel's sales goals.
  • Enhance corporate incentive programs through various outreach methods.
  • Promote hotel standards among guests and team members.
  • Represent MHG at various industry events across the region.
  • Evaluate and enhance the properties' engagement in diverse sales channels.
  • Support the operational aspects of business transactions, including proposal generation, contract drafting, and client communication.

  • Strong commercial insight and business acumen.

  • Exceptional customer service skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient negotiation skills with a proven ability to close sales.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Outstanding interpersonal abilities, capable of effective collaboration.
  • Self-motivated with a sense of urgency, ensuring timely responses to clients and colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Preferred diploma or degree in Business or Hotel and Restaurant Management.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in hotel sales or a related field is preferred.
