Position Summary

We are looking for a Nurse Manager for the Cardiac Care Unit who will oversee and coordinate the activities of nursing staff. The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Ensuring that patient needs are met while assessing nursing care and performance within the unit.
  • Planning and organizing training sessions for unit personnel and engaging in educational initiatives.
  • Participating in the recruitment process and managing the development, evaluation, and ongoing supervision of direct reports.
  • Delivering professional nursing care in accordance with established guidelines and protocols during patient interactions.
  • Embodying our Care Transformation Model to foster an environment of trust, fairness, and confidentiality among team members and stakeholders.
  • Practicing intentional rounding to listen and clarify patient and family concerns.
  • Upholding quality patient care by ensuring staff accountability to established care and regulatory standards.
  • Interpreting policies and procedures for nursing staff and patients/families.
  • Addressing patient, family, and staff concerns promptly to facilitate resolution.
  • Promoting evidence-based changes in clinical practice to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Collaborating with the healthcare team on bed management to ensure appropriate patient placement based on clinical requirements.
  • Managing PDSA cycles for specific improvement initiatives in partnership with the Unit Director and other key stakeholders.
  • Fostering a culture that encourages effective working relationships within a safe environment.
  • Proactively addressing and preventing customer service challenges.
  • Optimizing staff time and resources to enhance quality while reducing costs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required; a Master of Science in Nursing is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of nursing experience.
  • A current RN license or a temporary permit approved by the relevant licensing board is required.
  • BLS certification is mandatory.
  • ACLS certification may be required in certain areas.
