Key Responsibilities
  • The core functions and duties of this role may differ by Aramark location based on client needs and operational requirements.
  • Prepares and cooks a variety of dishes following production standards and established recipes.
  • Organizes the workstation with all necessary ingredients and tools.
  • Processes ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items.
  • Utilizes various utensils safely, including knives.
  • Operates kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
  • Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and employs various cooking methods on meats, vegetables, and other food items.
  • Presents, garnishes, and portions food according to set guidelines.
  • Stores food properly in compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils.
  • Maintains exceptional customer service and a positive attitude towards guests, clients, and colleagues.
  • Follows Aramark safety protocols, ensuring accurate food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Safeguards company assets.

Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a cook or in a similar role is required.
  • Proven understanding of fundamental food preparation principles, various cooking techniques, and food safety regulations, including proper food handling, sanitation, and storage.
  • Must be able to obtain food safety certification.
  • Exhibits basic math and counting abilities.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.

This position may involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended periods of walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
