Position Overview

As a Warehouse Operations Supervisor, you will report directly to the Operations Supervisor. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee various warehouse operations, including order fulfillment, inventory management, shipping, receiving, and inventory audits. In addition to executing multiple warehouse functions, you will assist the supervisor in ensuring that all operational best practices are communicated and followed by the warehouse team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute a variety of warehouse tasks such as receiving, order fulfillment, inventory management, and shipping to ensure timely completion of daily operations while meeting customer service standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to facilitate the efficient movement of goods throughout the warehouse.
  • Provide training and motivation to team members, ensuring tasks are performed safely and efficiently.
  • Support new hires through on-the-job training and mentorship.
  • Encourage adherence to approved warehouse procedures regarding equipment inspections, inventory management, cleanliness, and shipping processes, escalating issues to the operations supervisor as needed.
  • Lead daily team briefings, addressing any concerns raised by team members.
  • Propose and assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Act as the technical expert for workflow processes and RF scanning technology.
  • Ensure prompt resolution of RF IT-related issues, including tracking and follow-up.
  • Promote a collaborative environment through effective communication.
  • Assist the operations supervisor in monitoring productivity and quality metrics.
  • Complete daily shift reports and review them with the operations supervisor before the end of the shift.
  • Be flexible to work various shifts during peak periods or to cover for absences as required.
  • Oversee operations in the absence of the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years of experience in warehouse operations, with a strong safety record.
  • Experience with RF-based Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is preferred.

Education

  • Completion of a secondary school diploma is preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Willingness to engage in ongoing training and development.
  • A college diploma in Logistics Management is an asset.

Certifications

  • Forklift Certification from a recognized provider, with experience in various material handling equipment.
