Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Airport Operations Manager to join our team at Paladin Airport Security Services Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing screening operations at various checkpoints and ensuring the achievement of operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Screening Operations Oversight: Take ownership of screening checkpoint operations and ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Customer Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders within aviation security.
  • KPI Achievement: Achieve daily KPIs and ensure compliance with SOPs.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor Screening Officers, promoting an engaged and motivated workforce.
  • Performance Management: Conduct regular performance reviews and recommend employee recognition programs.
  • Corrective Action: Apply corrective measures following the progressive discipline process when and as needed.
  • Incident Reporting: Compile comprehensive security incident reports, documenting pertinent details, timelines, and actions taken during and after the incident.
  • Operational Support: Assist Screening Officers in handling operational matters requiring escalation, such as complaints and security incidents.
  • Workplace Investigations: Conduct workplace investigations with guidance from People & Culture and the senior leadership team.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform essential administrative tasks in alignment with daily operations.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Criminal Justice, or related field; OR a minimum of two (2) years of post-secondary education combined with a year of supervisory/managerial experience in a customer service, operational, or unionized environment.
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of work-related experience in a leadership role, preferably in the aviation security industry in a unionized environment.
  • Certifications: Ability to acquire Transportation Security Clearance (TSC) and eligibility for Federal Security Clearance.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of relevant security and employment legislation.
  • Skills: Strong operational focus, ability to work under pressure, and provide creative solutions.
  • Personnel Management: Experience in managing personnel in a unionized environment.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in using office software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Availability: Willingness to work irregular hours, shift work, and attend incidents after hours.
  • Communication: Strong communication, leadership, client service, and persuasive skills.
  • Language: Fluency in French is an asset.
