Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of controls engineers in the development of automated assembly systems. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the successful delivery of projects, while also mentoring and guiding your team members to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of controls engineers in the design and development of automated assembly systems
  • Collaborate with the applications engineering team to support proposals and own jobs won from concept to through-life support
  • Work with other project team members to develop a controls architecture that meets customer specifications and ATS standards
  • Participate in the development and implementation of tools, methods, and modules to ensure standards are maintained
  • Work with other teams to continuously improve methods and tools for integrating controls technology, driving enhanced safety and functionality
  • Ensure that cost and schedule budgets are adhered to or improved upon
  • Assign tasks to team members and ensure that all work products meet quality and safety standards
  • Approve material requisitions and maintain labour, material, and schedule forecast information
  • Ensure that scheduled milestones are achieved and provide primary technical assessments of team members for performance evaluations
  • Collaborate with controls managers to set goals and manage successful performance for team members
  • Lead and mentor team members, and review and evaluate new controls-related products to provide a cost-effective and up-to-date controls solution
Qualifications

Education: A post-secondary diploma, degree, or equivalent qualification in electrical, mechanical, or software controls technology

Experience: Demonstrated experience in an industrial development environment, producing controls for automated assembly systems. Proven leadership qualities, including good oral and written communication skills, ability to work with and motivate team members, and a willingness to take responsibility for key aspects needed for job completion.
