ABOUT THIS POSITION
Black & McDonald Limited is expanding its Alberta Region team. We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative professional eager to contribute to a dynamic and innovative environment.
The HVAC Sales Consultant will report directly to the Sales Leader and will be tasked with securing service, maintenance, and contract agreements within the HVAC sector. This role requires leveraging your technical expertise, organizational skills, and service knowledge to assist prospective clients in identifying optimal solutions while also driving revenue growth for the region. You will be instrumental in the marketing, planning, and technical advancement of our products and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and nurture long-term relationships with new clients to thoroughly understand their specific needs and requirements.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within key product lines, including Maintenance Contracts, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Sheet Metal, DDC, Controls, Retrofit Small Jobs, Projects, and FMOs.
- Employ proven sales strategies to identify and engage potential clients across various departments.
- Create and maintain a backlog of proposals to ensure a steady workflow for the team, achieving sales targets with acceptable profit margins.
- Evaluate customer needs and resources, recommending tailored solutions that encompass HVAC-related services.
- Prepare detailed reports and proposals, draft sales contracts, and deliver compelling sales presentations.
- Facilitate a seamless transition from sales to operations by adhering to established processes.
- Engage with clients periodically to address issues and provide ongoing support.
- Assist in troubleshooting technical challenges related to services and equipment.
- Commit to ongoing professional development and participate in all required training sessions.
- Contribute to departmental planning meetings and attend company-sponsored events as necessary.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- A university degree or college diploma in business, commerce, or a related sales/marketing field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in outside sales or marketing, preferably in the HVAC services and equipment sector.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and creatively resolve customer issues.
- Professional demeanor in all interactions with clients and colleagues.
- Willingness to travel to client locations as needed.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.
