Job Summary:
The Director of People & Culture will play a crucial role in shaping the organizational culture and ensuring the success of our team at Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge. As a key member of the Executive Committee, this individual will be responsible for developing and implementing people and culture strategies that align with the company's overall business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements People & Culture (P&C) strategies that are aligned with the company's overall business goals, collaborating closely with the wider Executive team as a business partner.
- Leads the P&C initiatives across the Resort, providing guidance and support to leaders at all levels to foster a culture of trust, honesty, respect, and gratitude.
- Oversees the recruitment and selection strategy for the Resort, ensuring all pipelines are active and working in collaboration with Corporate P&C to maximize recruitment efforts.
- Manages the onboarding process to ensure a positive first impression and successful integration of new employees into the Resort's culture.
- Collaborates with senior operational and human resource leaders to design and implement total compensation packages, including recognition and incentive programs tailored to the Resort's needs.
- Ensures Resort people practices are compliant with legal requirements and organizational values, managing the risk of litigation and conflict.
Training and Development:
- Identifies training gaps and collaborates with Corporate P&C to develop and deliver resort-wide training programs that align with the Resort's specific operational needs.
- Works with Resort leadership to integrate training and development as a central component of the Resort's strategy to drive efficiency and achieve desired results.
- Leads the implementation of health, safety, and wellness policies and procedures within the Resort, ensuring compliance through training, monitoring, and proactive safeguarding measures.
- Works with the Resort leadership team to build effective internal communication channels that resonate with all employees, ensuring alignment with Corporate P&C initiatives.
- Utilizes data to assess P&C performance against agreed KPIs, ensuring that the Resort division meets its people-related goals.
- Maintains a visible and accessible presence throughout the Resort, building strong working relationships and being perceived as a trusted partner in problem-solving.
- Executes assigned deliverables with minimal follow-up required, ensuring timeliness, scope, and quality in all P&C initiatives.
- Demonstrates behaviours and communication that support all five of the organization's core values (Family, Honesty, Industry, Quality, Winning) serving as a role model for all Resort employees.
Requirements:
- Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Has knowledge of the Canadian Rockies mountain culture, is interested in local recreation, history, or environment.
Working Conditions:
The Director of People & Culture may be exposed to long shifts that at times include late hours, weekends, and holidays. The Director will spend a lot of time on their feet, multitasking competing priorities, effectively leading employees, solving problems, and fostering a culture of service excellence.
