Position Overview:
The University of Toronto is seeking an experienced Event Coordination Specialist to join our Faculty of Arts & Science. This role is essential in managing and executing a variety of events that enhance the reputation and visibility of our academic community.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic event plans that align with the goals of the Dean's Office and other academic units.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
  • Oversee the logistics of event planning, including venue selection, vendor coordination, and on-site management.
  • Create and execute marketing and communication strategies to promote events effectively.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations post-events to assess outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all event-related inquiries and resolve any issues that arise during events.
  • Assist in the preparation of promotional materials and maintain event-related documentation.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or a combination of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in event planning and coordination, preferably within an academic environment.
  • Proven ability to develop effective communication strategies across various platforms.
  • Experience in managing event budgets and financial tracking.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with content management systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
