As a Senior Claims Expert, you will play a crucial role in investigating and resolving complex insurance claims within our commercial property and casualty insurance portfolio. You will be responsible for assessing coverage, liability, and damages, while ensuring exceptional customer service throughout the claims process.
Your Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough investigations into a wide range of complex claims, gathering evidence and analyzing relevant documentation.
- Determine insurance coverage applicability and assess liability based on policy terms and legal precedents.
- Prepare comprehensive file summaries for internal reporting, major claims, and reinsurance purposes.
- Communicate effectively with claimants, brokers, legal advisors, and other stakeholders to provide clear explanations of claim decisions and progress updates.
- Mentor and support junior claims experts within the team, sharing your expertise and guiding their professional development.
- Effectively manage a high volume of claims while prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Post-secondary education in an insurance-focused program or a related field.
- PAA designation obtained or actively pursuing.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience handling liability claims within the commercial insurance sector.
- Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain professional relationships.
