Communications and Correspondence Specialist

The Government of Nova Scotia is seeking a skilled Communications and Correspondence Clerk to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for ensuring a responsive system of communication between the department and communities across Nova Scotia.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a correspondence tracking system to ensure timely and accurate responses to inquiries and correspondence.
- Work closely with subject matter experts to provide informative and accurate responses to correspondence.
- Maintain a professional quality standard for correspondence issued by the department.
- Review and assist in the development of responses to correspondence and coach and mentor staff to maintain a consistent high-quality image of the department.
- Screen and resolve routine and public inquiries, organize and schedule meeting requests, and perform routine administrative duties.
- Handle sensitive information and ensure respect for confidentiality.
The successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills, the ability to be flexible and handle multiple deadlines, and strong writing skills. They will also have proficiency in computer applications such as MS Office and filing/retrieval systems. Experience in composing letters, reports, and briefing notes, as well as analyzing, reviewing, tracking, and monitoring correspondence for trends and/or areas of concern, is also required.
