Our company is comprised of five distinct facilities within Canada and the United States, making us Canada's largest wood moulding manufacturer and North America's leading manufacturer, retailer, and distributor of mouldings.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Millwright/Mechanic is a critical role responsible for performing preventative maintenance, repairing breakdowns, equipment improvements, and new equipment installations. This position requires rotating 12-hour shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize, plan, schedule, and perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment.
  • Perform scheduled downtime repair and overhaul of plant equipment.
  • Perform installations, as necessary.
  • Accurately and quickly diagnose breakdowns and perform the necessary work to prevent downtime or return the plant to production.
  • Ensure that all activities are properly logged.
  • Care for maintenance department tools and equipment.
  • Make recommendations on changes to equipment and production processes.
  • Communicate on equipment problems and opportunities related to production.
  • Follow all safety procedures and best practices.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards throughout the plant.
  • Report all unsafe working conditions to management or a member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Must have a valid license/certificate for industrial mechanic millwright (or other related fields).
  • High school diploma.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance shop equipment (lathe, milling machine, MIG welding, etc.).
  • Have a basic knowledge of industrial electricity.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to work with little supervision.
  • Valid driver's license.
