POSITION SUMMARY:

The Licensed Millwright/Mechanic plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our manufacturing operations. This position involves executing preventative maintenance, addressing equipment failures, enhancing machinery, and installing new equipment. The role requires working on a rotating 12-hour shift schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, prioritize, and execute preventative maintenance on all manufacturing equipment.
  • Conduct repairs and overhauls during scheduled downtimes.
  • Install new machinery and equipment as required.
  • Diagnose equipment failures promptly and perform necessary repairs to minimize production interruptions.
  • Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities.
  • Care for and maintain tools and equipment used in the maintenance department.
  • Provide recommendations for equipment modifications and process improvements.
  • Communicate effectively regarding equipment issues and production-related opportunities.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and best practices.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the plant.
  • Report any unsafe working conditions to management or the Health and Safety Committee.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid certification/license as an industrial mechanic or related field.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Familiarity with maintenance shop tools and equipment, including lathes and milling machines.
  • Basic understanding of industrial electrical systems.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting abilities.
  • Capability to interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Valid driver's license.
