Your Role at WSP
  1. Design and develop new structural systems as well as modifications to existing structures.
  2. Prepare assessments regarding structural integrity and building conditions.
  3. Conduct design and detailing for various structural materials including steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
  4. Oversee project management and coordination with clients and interdisciplinary teams.
  5. Collaborate with engineers to produce accurate structural drawings.
  6. Respond to requests for proposals from clients.
  7. Conduct site inspections and provide construction administration support.
  8. Ensure coordination with architectural, electrical, and mechanical plans.
  9. Manage project timelines and deliverables.
  10. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering.
  2. Postgraduate qualifications are considered an asset.
  3. Registered Professional Engineer status with the appropriate regulatory body.
  4. Strong understanding of structural principles, the National Building Code of Canada, and relevant design standards.
  5. Proficient in structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, SAP 2000, S-FRAME, and SAFE.
  6. 5-10 years of relevant experience in structural design.
  7. Demonstrated experience in project management.
  8. Experience with a variety of project types including Institutional, Commercial, Residential, Transportation, and Health Care.
  9. Knowledge of seismic design principles is advantageous.
  10. General understanding of other building disciplines.
  11. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  12. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
