Job Summary

A Product Technical Lead is responsible for leading project planning, development, and certification of aerospace systems. The ideal candidate will have advanced formal engineering training and experience, as well as system analysis skills to interface between customers and design teams.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure that systems engineering tasks are performed in accordance with company engineering procedures.
  2. Manage and/or generate systems engineering related documentation, including ARP4754A/DO-254/DO-178/DO-160/RAMS plans, high-level design, technical requirements documents, Interface Control Documents, test requirements, test plans, methods of compliance, and present to internal and external stakeholders.
  3. Perform Environmental and EMI/EMC (DO-160) requirement analysis and support qualification testing and results analysis.
  4. Collaborate with designers within cross-functional teams (hardware/electrical and software) to develop required designs/products and guide integration of sub-systems.
  5. Continually participate and support program risk assessment and mitigation.
  6. Analyze and solve detected problems within a team setting; Effectively lead all technical aspects of a development program to produce a product that meets customer requirements; Competence to perform validation and verification of the product at systems, hardware, and software levels.
  7. Perform causal/root cause analysis of detected problems and mitigate them.
  8. Plan and conduct product technical/customer/Quality/Audit reviews and testing activities, reports, and documentation.
  9. Effectively plan, manage, and achieve all design goals and milestones of the product development program.
  10. Support existing programs to meet other customer requirements, including conduct of technical investigations, integration development, and program review meetings.
  11. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  2. Minimum of 8 years of related experience with embedded control systems, preferably in the commercial aviation industry for Engines, Nose Wheel Steering, and Landing Gear control.
  3. Competence in ARP4754A, ARP4761 processes.
  4. Competence in DO-160, DO-178, DO-254 processes.
  5. Experience in requirements management tools such as DOORS, ReqView, etc.
  6. Competence in avionics/aerospace product development and project engineering principles, methods, and practices, including knowledge of Configuration Management and Quality Assurance practice.
  7. Must be eligible to meet requirements of CGP (or ITAR if required by a project).
  8. Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail.
Required Skills
  1. Correctly interpret customer needs and provide information to support bid activities; Satisfy customer requirements through technical and architectural proposals and ensure the best interests of the business are met.
  2. Good writing skills; Effective use of MS Office & MS Projects.
  3. Maintain and report on schedule and cost information; Lead the development team to meet the contractual requirements; Manage team and subcontractor work packages and statement of work.
  4. Write successful ARP4754A, DO-254, DO-178 plans; Analyze and provide input for environmental and EMC/EMI requirements to teams and designers; Analyze results, provide recommendations, manage follow-up, and reports to completion of qualification activities.
  5. Knowledgeable in product development life cycle activities with documentation from requirement to V & V.
  6. Effectively lead all phases of a development program to produce a product that meets the customer requirements; Correctly interpret requirements, specifications, and methodologies and translate the information into architectural plans, HW and SW development activities.
  7. Analyze and solve detected problems in a team setting; Manage report data and effectively translate information into a medium that is easily processed.
  8. Assume a lead position to review and to make technical and project decisions; Manage subcontractor work packages and SOW.
  9. Effectively managing reviews and meetings.
  10. Effectively manage the risk identification, assessment, and mitigation process.
