About the Role:

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is seeking a motivated and strategic professional to fulfill the role of Senior Engineer/Scientist/Technical Officer. This position is pivotal in delivering specialized technical services to clients in both nuclear and thermal generation facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a technical authority before regulatory bodies and government agencies, advocating for OPG's interests.
  • Participate in committees and task forces to conduct essential studies and implement work programs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and contribute to the development of safety programs.
  • Evaluate and manage external service providers in line with corporate policies.
  • Stay updated on advancements in your technical field through research and collaboration.
  • Lead complex projects, coordinating with various teams to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Provide generalist services across different technical disciplines as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices in your designated discipline.
  • A four-year university degree in engineering or a related field is required.
  • Experience in technical roles to develop familiarity with departmental procedures and problem-solving.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and resolve complex technical issues.
