Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Veterinarian to join our team at VCA Canada. As a key member of our emergency department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the growth and success of our hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emergency and critical care to patients, including triage, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Collaborate with our team of veterinarians and support staff to ensure seamless patient care and efficient hospital operations.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication, surgery, and other interventions as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research and advancements in emergency and critical care.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • DVM degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Completed a small animal internship or have 2 years of in-hospital emergency experience.
  • Leadership skills and a positive, team-player attitude.
  • Excellent diagnostic and critical care skills.
  • Exemplary client service skills.
  • Organizational skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts and rotate through weekends and statutory holidays.
