Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Veterinarian to join our team at VCA Canada. As a key member of our emergency department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working closely with our specialty services, and contributing to a positive and supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emergency and critical care to patients, including triage, diagnosis, and treatment
  • Work collaboratively with our specialty services, including internal medicine, surgery, ophthalmology, and cardiology
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on the latest medical advancements
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork
  • Assist with mentoring and training of junior veterinarians and technicians
Requirements
  • DVM degree or equivalent, enabling practice in Canada
  • Completed a small animal internship or have 2 years of in-hospital emergency experience
  • Leadership skills combined with a positive, team-player attitude
  • Excellent diagnostic and critical care skills
  • Exemplary client service skills, allowing you to build trust and loyalty with clients
  • Organizational skills, which allow you to work efficiently under pressure
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts and rotate through weekends and statutory holidays
