Job Summary

VCA is seeking a skilled Emergency Veterinarian to join our team at the Vancouver Animal Emergency and Referral Centre. As a key member of our emergency department, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our team of specialists to deliver exceptional medical services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency and critical care to patients, including triage, diagnosis, and treatment
  • Work closely with our team of specialists, including internal medicine, surgery, ophthalmology, and cardiology
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest medical advancements
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment, promoting a culture of excellence and patient-centered care
  • Collaborate with our management team to develop and implement policies and procedures that ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety

Requirements

  • DVM degree or equivalent, enabling practice in Canada
  • Completed a small animal internship or have 2 years of in-hospital emergency experience
  • Leadership skills combined with a positive, team-player attitude
  • Excellent diagnostic and critical care skills
  • Exemplary client service skills, allowing you to build trust and loyalty with clients
  • Organizational skills, which allow you to work efficiently under pressure
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts and rotate through weekends and statutory holidays
