Position Overview
We are seeking a Temporary Client Accounting Representative for a duration of up to 12 months. This role is part of a unionized environment under the CUPE 1816 Bargaining Unit.

The compensation for this position is structured at an hourly rate, with wage increases aligned with the Collective Agreement.

Key Responsibilities
Under the general oversight of the Accounting Manager, the Client Accounting Representative will undertake a variety of full-cycle accounting and tax responsibilities, including:
  • Preparation and generation of client financial reports and consolidated monthly financial statements using established protocols and accounting software.
  • Execution of accounts payable and receivable tasks for pension and health benefit plan clients, ensuring timely and precise processing of invoices, payments, deposits, and related transactions.
  • Production of standard and tailored accounting reports and correspondence.
  • Preparation, calculation, and filing of tax returns, including balancing and reconciling tax remittances to general ledgers.
  • Addressing internal and external inquiries related to Client Accounting functions.
Financial Management
Responsibilities also include:
  • Conducting bank reconciliations and managing cash flow by balancing monthly client bank statements and matching financial transactions.
  • Performing various accounts payable and receivable duties, including preparing invoices and managing payments.
  • Ensuring compliance with tax regulations by preparing and filing monthly tax remittances and sales tax returns.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A completed 2-year Diploma in Accounting or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and advanced skills in Excel.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Experience with full-cycle accounting software and tax software.
