Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cook to join our team at Sun Communities, Inc. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring that our guests receive exceptional food and beverage service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Prepare and cook food to order, using a variety of kitchen equipment and techniques.
    • Ensure that all food is prepared to a high standard, meeting the quality and presentation expectations of our guests.
    • Provide exceptional service to our guests, responding to their needs and preferences in a timely and professional manner.
  • Kitchen Management
    • Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including inventory management, ordering, and receiving supplies.
    • Ensure that the kitchen is clean, organized, and well-maintained, meeting the health and safety standards of our company.
    • Manage the kitchen staff, providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure that they are meeting their responsibilities and contributing to the success of the team.
  • Leadership and Teamwork
    • Lead by example, demonstrating a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of your work.
    • Work collaboratively with other members of the culinary team, providing support and assistance as needed to ensure that our guests receive exceptional service.
    • Communicate effectively with the kitchen staff, providing clear instructions, feedback, and guidance to ensure that they are meeting their responsibilities and contributing to the success of the team.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree or certification preferred.
    • Minimum 6 months of experience in a kitchen leadership role, preferably in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent culinary skills, including cooking, plating, and presentation.
    • Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with guests, staff, and management.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, meeting the demands of a high-volume kitchen.
