About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dietary Staff Member to join our team at Southbridge Care Homes. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our residents receive nutritious and delicious meals that meet their dietary needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and prepare food according to standardized recipes and production sheets.
  • Assist with the absence of the Food Services Manager, taking on additional responsibilities as needed.
  • Monitor the quality and quantity of food supplies, recommending corrective action when necessary.
  • Coach and train Dietary Aides in food preparation procedures and serving activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and collaborate with other departments to meet resident needs.

Requirements:

  • Chef training or culinary management certificate/diploma from a recognized program.
  • Certificate of qualification as a Cook issued by an authority meeting the requirements of the Ontario Long Term Care Act.
  • Post-secondary diploma in food and nutrition management or a post-secondary degree in food and nutrition.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Red Seal Cook Trade Certification.
  • Experience in institutional large quantity cooking.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to provide direction and lead others within a busy environment.
