About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Dietitian to join our Nutrition and Food Services team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide expert nutrition advice and care to patients, families, and communities.

You will be responsible for leading team efforts to support the nutritional health of patients, including the prevention, detection, and treatment of malnutrition and medical nutrition therapy using the Nutrition Care Process.

As a Dietitian with the Nova Scotia Health Authority, you will participate in the Dietetic Practicum and Internship program, including preceptoring and mentoring Dietetic Students.

You will employ an evidence-informed approach to practice, collaborating with healthcare team providers to share nutrition expertise, ensure quality and continuity of care, and support a range of healthcare services.

About You

We are looking for a qualified Dietitian with a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from a recognized University, a Dietetic Internship Program, and current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Dietitians and Nutritionists.

Preferred qualifications include a minimum of one year of working experience as a Dietitian, inpatient clinical nutrition experience, and competency in dysphagia management, enteral and parenteral nutrition.

You will have experience counselling patients, demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications, and effective interpersonal and communication skills.

A skills test may be required as part of the selection process.

Hours
  • Permanent Part-time, 70% FTE, 52.5 hours biweekly
  • Hours may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Compensation and Incentives

$43.43 Hourly
