Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team at Magil Construction. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process for all assigned projects from concept to lump sum tender.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimating and Procurement: Accurately interpret and comprehend tender drawings and specifications, perform and/or direct quantity take-offs from tender drawings, and develop strategies for a competitive edge.
- Project Management: Oversee tendering and awarding of contracts, point of contact and advisor for assigned project(s) from initial client contact to handover/transfer upon contract award.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior employees and lead a Design-Build project through the tender stage.
- Business Development: Participate in business development efforts to identify client and project pursuits.
Requirements:
- Education: College diploma or bachelor's in engineering, construction management, or architecture.
- Experience: At least 5 years of related experience in a lead estimating role.
- Skills: Ability to logically sequence construction work and build project schedule, planning, scheduling, and organization skills, proficiency with bid management and estimating software, Microsoft Office Suite.
- Certifications: Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) certification would be an asset, experience working with Procore would be an asset.
