Position Overview:

RWDI is looking for a proactive individual to become part of our Sustainability team as a Senior/Intermediate Energy Consultant. This is a full-time, permanent role that focuses on enhancing building performance and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct building performance simulations and analyze outcomes to inform the design of both new and existing structures.
  • Provide expert advice to clients and design teams on high-performance building strategies aimed at achieving certifications such as LEED, Passive House, and Zero Carbon.
  • Effectively communicate findings through reports, presentations, and meetings.
  • Mentor junior consultants to enhance team technical skills and refine modeling methodologies.
  • Prepare compliance documentation for various building performance codes and incentives.
  • Develop and present technical topics internally and externally, and lead workshops on sustainability and energy design.
  • Conduct additional technical analyses and research to support the sustainability and energy modeling team, including thermal performance calculations and renewable energy assessments.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in IES Virtual Environment; experience with alternative energy modeling software is also acceptable.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical HVAC systems and their influence on energy efficiency.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in building energy performance modeling and consulting.
  • Relevant undergraduate or graduate degree in fields related to buildings, HVAC, or energy efficiency.
  • Professional credentials such as CEM, BEMP, or BESA are advantageous; P. Eng designation is preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building design processes, codes, and standards, along with expertise in sustainable design principles and thermal science.
