Position Overview:
RWDI is in search of a motivated individual to become part of our Sustainability team as a Senior/Intermediate Energy Consultant. This full-time permanent role is primarily focused on enhancing building performance and sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct building performance simulations and analyze outcomes to inform the design of both new and existing structures.
- Provide guidance to clients and design teams on high-performance building strategies, aiding in achieving certifications such as LEED, Passive House, and Zero Carbon.
- Effectively communicate findings through various formats, including reports, presentations, and meetings.
- Mentor junior consultants to enhance team technical skills and refine modeling methodologies while staying updated on codes and emerging sustainability technologies.
- Prepare necessary compliance documentation for building performance codes and programs.
- Facilitate and present on technical topics internally and externally, including workshops and webinars.
- Conduct additional technical analyses to support the sustainability and energy modeling team, covering areas such as thermal performance, daylight simulation, and GHG accounting.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in IES Virtual Environment; experience with similar energy modeling software is also acceptable.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems and their influence on energy efficiency.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in building energy performance modeling and consulting.
- Degree in a relevant field related to buildings, HVAC, or energy efficiency.
- Professional credentials such as CEM, BEMP, or BESA are valued; P. Eng designation is preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of building design processes, codes, and standards, including HVAC systems and sustainable design principles.
