Job Overview:

Guidehouse is seeking a highly skilled Senior Energy Consultant to join our team. As a Senior Energy Consultant, you will play a key role in supporting our clients in the energy sector by providing expert advice and guidance on energy management and policy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of energy management strategies and policies for clients in the energy sector.
  • Conduct research and analysis on energy market trends and regulatory developments.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on energy management best practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and implement energy management plans and programs for clients.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and develop business opportunities in the energy sector.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the energy sector, including government agencies, industry associations, and private sector companies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business, policy, engineering, economics, finance, science, or related discipline.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communications skills, including written and verbal.
  • Strong critical analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • No sponsorship available for this position.
  • The successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described.
  • Authorization to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's or MBA degree in an engineering, science, business, and/or economics discipline.
  • Previous experience as a consultant or management consultant.
  • Working experience in a reliability compliance field for an electric utility, a region, NERC, FERC, or equivalent.
  • Utility experience.
  • Regulatory experience.
  • Experience working for provincial or local governments.
  • Specific working experience related to any of the following:
    • Cyber security, especially working with operations technology (OT) or industrial control systems (ICS).
    • Bulk electric system (BES) and power systems.
    • NERC/FERC enforcement or auditing.
    • Critical infrastructure protection standards (CIP).
    • Physical security.
    • Utility wildfire mitigation.
