Financial Operations Manager

Position Overview:
Our client, a reputable mid-sized professional services firm in the legal sector, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented finance professional to oversee the financial and accounting operations. This role requires exceptional organizational skills and the ability to lead a team while ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire accounting department, including recruitment, training, and professional development of staff.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Manage cash flow and monitor employee spending.
- Ensure accurate management of accounts receivable and timely deposits.
- Prepare for year-end audits and compile necessary documentation.
- Handle year-end adjustments, accruals, and calculations related to surplus funds.
- Facilitate the allocation of partnership income and manage partners' capital accounts.
- Develop and maintain budgets and financial forecasts.
- Conduct ongoing analysis of budgets and forecasts for various projects.
- Implement and uphold a robust system of internal controls.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and accrual records.
- Perform multiple account reconciliations.
- Oversee trust account management for condominium unit purchaser deposits and ensure proper release procedures.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a controller role.
- CPA designation is a valuable asset.
- Experience in a law firm is highly regarded.
