Job Summary

The Government of Nunavut is seeking a highly skilled Senior Policy Analyst to join our team at the Nunavut Housing Corporation. As a key member of our Policy and Strategic Planning Division, you will play a critical role in developing, coordinating, and managing strategic planning, policies, and procedures that support our mission to provide affordable housing options to families and individuals in Nunavut.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and review guidelines, policies, and legislation related to housing and community development.
  • Produce high-quality briefing materials for senior leadership and the Corporate Executive Committee.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of proposed policies and programs, identifying potential impacts and recommending modifications.
  • Liaise with national, provincial, and territorial governments, Inuit organizations, and other housing stakeholders to advance our goals.
  • Coordinate divisional involvement with Government of Nunavut departments and other agencies to develop interdepartmental initiatives.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a field such as Social Sciences, Communications, Economics, Business, or Public Administration from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in developing and analyzing public policy and programs, preferably in a large organization or government setting.
  • Experience supervising and leading work assignments is an asset.
  • Experience or education in analyzing housing markets is also considered an asset.
  • Fluency in more than one of Nunavut's official languages (Inuktut, English, and French) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut, and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.
