About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Systems Analyst to join our team at FortisBC. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Maintain Strategic Plans: Collaborate with line management and business experts to develop and maintain strategic plans for systems maintenance, enhancement, and development.
  • Lead User Work Teams: Provide leadership for user work teams and outsourced system maintenance/enhancement providers on ongoing system maintenance, enhancement, and system development.
  • Manage Preventative Maintenance: Manage the priority of the preventative maintenance plan for existing operations systems.
  • Ensure Data Integrity: Ensure system controls are defined, documented, and in place to maintain data integrity.
  • Design and Conduct Training: Design and conduct training needs assessments for user areas and design training material for adult learners.
  • Manage Large Projects: Manage large-sized projects and provide advice to other system administrators on system interfaces and business requirements.
  • Conduct Post-Implementation Reviews: Conduct post-implementation reviews to confirm benefits are obtained and report on findings and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
  • Education: Completion of a recognized post-secondary technologist diploma in an appropriate computer technology or an equivalent combination of recognized, relevant certifications.
  • Experience: Four (4) years directly related relevant experience.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, competence in managing multiple large projects, oral and written communications, presentation skills, and adult training delivery ability.
  • Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of computer systems operations, environment, and peripherals, as well as applications software in use at FortisBC and specialized software in use in the department.
