Position Overview

The Mechanical Project Engineer at Curtiss-Wright Nuclear Division is responsible for executing a range of intricate mechanical engineering functions tailored for projects within the nuclear sector, a field characterized by stringent regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Expertise: Apply knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures related to various mechanical systems and apparatus.
  • Project Support: Play a crucial role in supporting project timelines and fulfilling customer commitments.
  • Compliance Assurance: Complete project tasks in alignment with company protocols and policies to meet customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Collaboration: Engage with customers, suppliers, operations, sales, and finance to facilitate both domestic and international offerings.
  • Documentation: Analyze a diverse range of customer purchase orders, technical specifications, and quality assurance criteria, translating these into design, procurement, qualification, and testing documentation.
  • Quality Control: Ensure adherence to customer purchasing requirements, technical specifications, and industry regulations.
  • Design Evaluation: Determine design methodologies and parameters for testing and qualifying equipment and systems.
  • Testing Procedures: Conduct factory acceptance tests, documenting and assessing results for various mechanical and electromechanical components and systems.
  • Component Selection: Choose components and equipment based on a thorough analysis of specifications and vendor capabilities to ensure product compliance and verification.
  • Technical Support: Provide assistance in failure investigations and bid submissions.
  • Quality Program Compliance: Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with the company’s Quality Program and nuclear regulatory standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Work cohesively with team members to achieve project goals, emphasizing safety, quality, and adherence to customer timelines.
  • Safety Practices: Maintain a commitment to safety in accordance with company policies at all times.
Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required. A Professional Engineer license is highly preferred. Experience in project coordination and the ability to effectively manage time across multiple projects is essential.
