The Closures Technical Centre, part of Magna International Inc., specializes in the design, development, and testing of mechatronic products tailored for the automotive sector. We seek a student pursuing an Engineering degree for a co-op placement within our Electro Mechanical Systems team.
Key Responsibilities- Assigned to components, sub-assemblies, or systems of moderate complexity, focusing on existing products and minor modifications.
- Prepare simple plans, designs, calculations, costs, and bills of material in accordance with established codes and specifications.
- Support the comprehensive development of designated products, including design, build, and testing activities.
- Conduct routine technical surveys or inspections and compile reports.
- Ensure customer requirements and product specifications are integrated into designs, maintaining compliance with operational and quality standards.
- Analyze products and derive engineering conclusions using relevant principles and tools.
- Collaborate with engineering management to analyze various engineering methodologies as needed.
- Compile engineering documentation, including specifications, reports, and change orders.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on product development requirements.
- Assist in CAE activities through hand calculations.
- Facilitate effective communication among project teams and stakeholders, maintaining comprehensive documentation.
- Adhere to existing policies and recommend improvements.
- Uphold Magna's Code of Conduct and compliance policies.
- Perform other related tasks as necessary.
- Developing verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Basic proficiency in CAD software.
- Competent in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
