About the Role

Caterpillars Child Care is seeking a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as an Early Childhood Educator Assistant. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the development and well-being of our young children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Assist in creating and implementing engaging child-care programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our children.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the daycare equipment is well-maintained and organized, providing a safe and healthy environment for our children.
  • Program Implementation: Collaborate with our team to carry out programs that promote the overall development of our children, including their physical, emotional, and cognitive growth.
  • Record-Keeping: Assist in maintaining accurate records of our children's progress, including observations and notes.
  • Engagement and Guidance: Engage our children in various activities such as storytelling, singing, and crafts, while also guiding them in daily habits like eating and dressing.
  • Observations and Feedback: Provide regular observations and feedback to our team on the children's progress and development.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with our colleagues and community service providers to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment for our children.
  • Environment and Safety: Contribute to creating a safe and healthy environment for our children, adhering to all necessary safety protocols and regulations.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary school graduation certificate is required.
  • Experience: Experience in a child-care setting is an asset.
  • Training and Certifications: Emergency child care first aid and CPR certification is required.
  • Security and Safety: A criminal record check is required.
  • Work Conditions: This role requires a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling, as well as attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • Personal Suitability: Punctuality, flexibility, and reliability are essential, as well as being a team player with creativity.
