Position Overview

We are seeking a talented Process Engineer/Boiler Evaporator Supervisor to enhance our operations at the Goderich Evaporation Plant in Ontario. This facility has a rich history dating back to 1867 and is renowned for producing high-purity salt products through mechanical evaporation methods.

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Lead project engineering and management initiatives.
  • Oversee small to medium capital projects from inception to execution.
  • Formulate strategies to enhance equipment reliability via Reliable Asset Management (RAM) and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and profitability enhancements.
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and strategic plans.
  • Manage Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP) activities.
  • Exhibit strong planning capabilities for new projects.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies regarding plant operating standards.
  • Maintain and update capital expenditure tracking for monthly reporting.
  • Build relationships with maintenance, boiler evaporator, and operations teams to facilitate project planning and communication.
  • Negotiate technical terms with suppliers and contractors while fostering positive relationships.

Qualifications

To be successful in this position, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or a related field with supervisory experience preferred.
  • 4-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 2 years of project management experience with cross-functional teams.
  • A minimum of 2 years leading equipment/process reliability initiatives.
  • Preferred qualifications include:
  • Proven leadership in continuous improvement projects.
  • P. Eng Certification.
  • Experience in food processing or high-speed packaging environments.
  • Background in data analysis and management.
