Job Summary:

As an Operations Support Specialist at Marriott International, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of day-to-day operations. Reporting directly to the Guest Services Director, you will support department heads and the team in implementing and utilizing administrative and operational tools, processes, and practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and/or update processes and tools for monitoring day-to-day hotel operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with leaders on all operational procedures to ensure seamless execution.
  • Utilize Qpower and other systems to support the team in increasing departmental scores.
  • Contribute to the development and/or update of operational policies and procedures.
  • Champion the BLT program and assist in presenting BLT trainings for new hires and managers.
  • Monitor software applications for requests, such as iCloud account access, TAASTA, and display summaries for groups for restaurant and banquet.
  • Purchase supplies using the P-Card for operational needs.
  • Request orders for work cell phones and office supplies, and create badges.
  • Present in operational meetings to take minutes.
  • Assist the Guest Services team by providing support on administration of daily operations, including:
    • Coordinate guest satisfaction survey results and comments.
    • Add customer feedback to GXP.
    • Monitor gift shop inventory and ensure all items are in place.
    • Manage dates in coordination with the chef.
    • Assist Guest Service team with printing Group Summaries.
    • Make purchases with PCARD.
  • Manage gift shop inventory and assist in displaying items.
  • Coordinate invoice payments for all departments and create micro-reports for restaurant, cafe, and room service, including review of purchase orders via Hotshop.
  • Assist the restaurant and banquet team with recurring purchase orders, such as bands, uniforms, linens, SAQ for all alcohols, create cocktail lists, and book for bartenders, and update menu changes (lunch, dinner, wine list, cocktail, promos) by monitoring inventory.
  • Support the kitchen team to keep requisition sheets up to date and create usage logs for menu items, update product prices from food suppliers, and label codes for food storage, and place all food orders provided by the chef and/or sous-chef.
  • Standardize purchase order processes for all departments and streamline the process.
  • Ensure to follow trainings on software application tools and resources (Micros, Marsha-PMS, Clear Sky, Hot Shoppers, and BLT program).
  • Partner with all department heads to ensure creating and maintaining the best internal customer service and coordination.
  • Perform all other administrative duties or special projects as required.
Competencies:

  • Experience in a hospitality organization is an asset.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED; 2-3 years' experience in the hotel, operation management, or related professional area.
  • OR
  • 4-years degree from an accredited university in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 1 year experience in the food and beverage, culinary, event management, or related professional area.
