RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage Canadian pension and group benefits programs for hourly union, non-union, and salaried personnel.
  • Collaborate with management, employees, and vendors regarding health and disability claims.
  • Establish strong working relationships with third-party administrators, insurance providers, and other service partners.
  • Maintain benefits and pension data within the company's Human Capital Management systems.
  • Keep pension and benefits records and files, including contracts, plan documents, summaries, and other materials.
  • Work alongside the Payroll Team and HR Administrators on various pension, benefits, and disability management issues.
  • Communicate with employees as necessary, including responding to inquiries and distributing materials.
  • Support the Total Rewards team and the broader Human Resources team on various matters.
  • Participate in the Pension Audit & Benefits audit process, including quarterly audits between our internal HCM system and third-party vendors.
  • Collaborate closely with the HCM team to ensure the HR System is accurately configured for Pension & Benefits.
  • Assist with health and retirement projects and initiatives as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, finance, or a related discipline.
  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) designation, or progress towards designation is considered advantageous.
  • 1 – 3 years of experience supporting benefits and retirement as an Administrator or consultant.
  • Familiarity with Canadian government legislation related to life and health benefit plans.
  • Knowledge of Canadian pension legislation would also be beneficial.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong customer service abilities.
  • Proficient in standard office applications (Excel, Word).
  • Experience with Oracle HCM Cloud Fusion is considered an asset.
  • Highly organized, capable of multitasking, with exceptional attention to detail and planning.
  • Strong mathematical skills are essential.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
