Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Compensation and Benefits Manager to join our team at Halton Healthcare. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of our compensation and benefit programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of compensation and benefit plans, including job evaluations, salary and benefit premium adjustments, and other related initiatives.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to senior leadership and related committees on compensation and benefits matters.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify trends and best practices in compensation and benefits, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors, consultants, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Manage the administration of our defined benefit pension plan, including complex calculations, reporting requirements, and other administrative issues.
  • Provide trusted advice and recommendations to the Total Rewards team and Manager, encouraging effective solutions-based approach.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in compensation, benefits, and pension administration, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Completed university degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field. Specialist certification as compensation and/or benefits professional required.
  • Strong knowledge and familiarity with standards and practices for provincial and federally mandated laws with respect to compensation, benefits, and pensions.
  • Subject matter expert in all areas of compensation and benefits program design and maintenance.
  • Solid understanding of unionized environments (preferably healthcare) including administration of multiple Collective Agreements.
  • Demonstrated success in leading projects/initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills: ability to conduct research and condense complex information into succinct reports, including actionable recommendations.
  • Advanced capability in HRIS applications with strong spreadsheet and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm, with the ability to flex schedule as required for operational needs.

The salary range for this position is $100,497 - $124,509 annually.
