Position Title: Process Specialist

Job Overview:

The Process Specialist is responsible for enhancing the efficiency, quality, productivity, and cost-effectiveness of existing processes, as well as facilitating the introduction of new processes in accordance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support new project launches by developing and implementing innovative processes.
  • Analyze customer part drawings to design preliminary processes that align with client specifications.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Engineer and vendors to establish equipment requirements based on part specifications.
  • Prepare and distribute RFQs, and conduct cost analyses.
  • Set up and test equipment functionality to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Integrate new machinery into existing plant layouts, creating cell and plant layouts as necessary.
  • Assist in the creation and development of FMEAs, control plans, and standardized work charts.
  • Determine manpower needs once processes are established.
  • Lead trial builds from initial stages to high-volume production trials.
  • Oversee time trials to improve production efficiency.
  • Support ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure all processes comply with safety and quality standards, minimizing scrap and downtime.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and implement corrective measures.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Completion of a 2-4 year Engineering degree or Engineering technician diploma from an accredited institution.

Experience:

  • 2-4 years of experience in high-volume automotive manufacturing and production.
  • 2-4 years of experience with Lean Manufacturing Principles.
  • Proficiency in 3D and 2D CAD software.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to adapt to changing production demands.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of addressing large groups.
  • Resourceful problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective time management skills while handling multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of Japanese, Spanish, or Portuguese is an asset.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
